Review

Y’all know I’m a big ol fan girl when it comes to Nalini Singh. I admittedly reread her books when I get in a reading rut because I want to revisit the worlds she has created. I love the Guild Hunter series! If you haven’t read it, you don’t know what your missing. Angel’s Flight holds four oh so good novellas from the Guild Hunter world.

Angels’ Pawn is about Ashwini, a hunter who is always described in the series as a little spooky, and Janvier, the Cajun vampire Ashwini can never seem to capture when she is charged to hunt him. In Angels’ Pawn these two have to work together on a case. I love this novella because it has an open ending and we see Ash and Janvier a little in other Guild Hunter books. I hope to see more of them soon. I had actually read this one before and it was just as fun the second time around.

Angel's Judgment is Sara and Deacon’s story and takes place before Angels’ Blood. I was excited to read this I have always loved Elena’s best friend Sara. In Angel’s judgment we get to see Sara in action before she was director, wife, and mother. We have never been given a lot about Deacon before and let me just say this about him now, the man is HOT, OK glad I got that out… I really did like getting to know Sara and Deacon a little more through Angels’ Judgment.

Angels' Wolf is Noel’s story. I have always been curious about what happened to the vampire that Raphael hurt so badly when he was in the quiet. Noel has always been sad to me. In Angels’ Wolf I finally got to meet Noel and he is still emotionally broken from all the damage Raphael did. Noel is sent on a mission to help an angel named Nimra. With how brutal I have seen both angels and vampires in this series the relationship that happens between Noel and Nimra was sweet and refreshing.

Angels' Dance is the reason I had to hit up three  stores (Yep, I said 3.) with kids in tow on February 28th to find this book! I have wanted to learn more about Jessamy since I read about her in Archangel’s Kiss and she was such a good friend to Elena. I had to know what had happened to her wing, and I really wanted to know what the deal was between Galen and Jessamy. I got all of my answers, I got my answers and they were so, so good. Just read this little tidbit between Galen an Dmitri:

“Does she have a lover?”

Dmitri’s sophisticated elegance broke to reveal utter astonishment. “What.”

“Jessamy,” He repeated patiently. “Does she have a lover?”

“She’s the Teacher.”

“She’s also a woman.” And if the men around her had been too stupid to notice, Galen wasn’t going to lose sleep over it.

A startled pause, a shake of Dmitri’s head that had blue-black highlights glinting in the sun. “No,” the vampire finally responded “she doesn’t have a lover as far as I know.”

“Good”

Dmitri continued to stare at him. “You do realize she’s over two thousand five hundred years old, speaks at least a hundred languages, and has such a depth of knowledge the Cadre comes to her for advice and information?”

Galen had no doubt all of that was true. “I don’t intend to get into an intelligence contest with her.” No, he wanted her in a far more primal way.

Dmitri blew out a breath. “This should be interesting.”

And it was! Go get Angels’ Flight and devour it like I did. If you’re new to this series then do yourself a favor and pick up Angels’ Blood, the first book in the Guild Hunter series and get hooked like I am.

Happy Reading,
